From M6, junc. 36:
Join the A590 to Kendal, Barrow and the Lakes.
After approximately 4 miles you will see a sign
for Barrow (A590). Leave at this slip road and stay on the A590
following the signs to Barrow.
After approximately 10 miles you will enter
Newby Bridge. Go straight across at the roundabout and after
400m turn right over a hump back bridge towards the Swan Hotel.
Follow signs to the Lakeside Hotel (You will be
on this road for about 4 miles). You will pass the Lakeside
Hotel on the right and then the Bobbin Mill on the left. You
will then pass two signs for a YMCA camp on your right hand
side. After the second YMCA sign you should proceed for a
further mile to the top of the rise and you will see a formal
set of gates on the left. Follow Lakeland Segway signs to
Graythwaite Hall car park.
From Ambleside
Follow road signs out of Ambleside towards
Hawkshead. At Hawkshead follow signs for Newby Bridge. After
approximately 4 miles Graythwaite Hall gardens entrance will be
seen on your right. Follow Lakeland Segway signs to Graythwaite
Hall car park.
